I am proud to be a third generation (of five generations) to be living in Roscommon County. As a previous business owner/operator of Scottie’s House of Hairstyles, I changed careers after twenty-four years and found myself as a kennel worker/Animal Control Officer in training for the Roscommon County Animal Shelter due to my love of animals.
After starting in 2005, I became a certified officer in 2006 and received a promotion to Chief ACO in 2015. On June 27, 2019, I was appointed as Director of the Roscommon County Animal Shelter. Since coming to the shelter, I have been a District Representative, Secretary, and currently hold the position of Treasurer (two consecutive terms) for the Michigan Association of Animal Control Officers.
I will always strive to do my best to ensure public safety and welfare for the community residents of Roscommon County, both humans and animals alike. It is an honor to be a member of this shelter family and to have found the true meaning of dedicated teamwork.
When the world cries, “Give up,” hope whispers, “try one more time.”
